AFL Weekly

This week's notes

Top performers

Hitters ranked by total bases, walks, steals and runs produced plus win probability added (WPA). Starters by a game-score total. Relievers by WPA, then strikeouts. Minimum 8 PA or 1 IP.

This week's games

The top lines on each side, the plate appearance with the largest swing in win probability, and the hardest-hit ball and top velocity of each game.

Top prospects in the AFL

Consensus rank blends MLB Pipeline's current Top 100 with the FanGraphs in-season Board. FV is QuestFit's independent grade. Trend compares this week with the player's full fall line.

Top performers

Hitters by OPS (35+ PA). Starters by QuestFit xERA, then ERA (8+ IP, 2+ starts). Relievers by WPA, so high-leverage arms rank alongside high-volume ones.

Category leaders

Rate stats require 35 PA or 10 IP. QuestFit xERA converts expected wOBA (every tracked batted ball by exit velocity and launch angle, plus walks and strikeouts) to the league's ERA scale.

Exit velocity and velocity leaders

From Statcast tracking in AFL parks. EV90 is 90th-percentile exit velocity, the best available proxy for bat speed and strength (20+ batted balls). Fastball velocity requires 20+ pitches.

Bullpen leverage board

Relievers with 4+ IP. gmLI is the average leverage index when the pitcher enters (1.0 is an average spot, 2.0+ a game on the line). WPA is win probability added. High-leverage batters faced are those at LI 1.5 or above.

Player board

QuestFit grades on the major-league 20-80 scale (50 is major-league average). Select a player for the full summary and grade profile; the bar shows present (solid) and future (outline) against the 50 line.
